On Saturday, former President Donald Trump announced plans to hold separate phone calls on Monday with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and NATO leaders in an effort to negotiate a ceasefire in the ongoing war in Ukraine.
According to a post on Truth Social, Trump said the first call—with Putin—is scheduled for 10 a.m. and will center on efforts to “stop the bloodshed,” which he claimed is resulting in the deaths of over 5,000 Russian and Ukrainian soldiers each week. He also indicated trade would be part of the discussion.
